A verse on Praise of God,
வேண்டுதல் வேண்டாமை இலான் அடிசேர்ந்தார்க்குயாண்டும் இடும்பை இல. (கடவுள் வாழ்த்து, அதிகாரம் 1, குறள் 4)
Meaning: To those who worship the glorious feet of Him, who is without desire or aversion, evil shall never come (Praise of God, 1:4)
A verse on Gratitude,
தினைத்துணை நன்றிசெயினும் பனைத் துணையாக்கொள்வர் பயந்தெரிவார். (செய்ந்நன்றி அறிதல், அதிகாரம் 11, குறள் 4)
Meaning: Though the benefit conferred upon is very small as a millet seed, those who know its true value will consider it as large a tree. (On Gratitude,11:4)

செல்விருந்து ஓம்பி வருவிருந்து பார்த்திருப்பான்நல்விருந்து வானத்தவர்க்கு. (விருந்து ஓம்பல், அதிகாரம் 9, குறள் 6)
Meaning: He who has entertained the guests who have just come to his house and looks forward to entertaining those yet to come will be welcomed by those who inhabit the Heavens. (On Hospitality, 9:6)
